Research
The Department of Clinical Medicine conducts research across a wide spectrum of medicine. Our efforts range from purely fundamental research to clinical and epidemiological research. The Department is also increasingly involved in translational research.
At the Department of Clinical Medicine, research is organised through research groups and teaching units parallel to the medical specialities. The different research groups collaborate on projects and the Department of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Medical Biology work extensively together within the field of translational research.

IKM produces around 140 - 160 scientific publications per annum and 15-20 doctoral dissertations. Major research projects are financed by Helse Nord, the Research council of Norway and the EU.
