Programme description

Programme description

This discipline is included in the Master's Degree Progam in Chemistry .

Much of the research activity in is directed toward structural chemistry/biology with X-ray crystallography as the central technique. This concerns both proteins, biologically or pharmaceutically important small molecules and structures of importance in organic synthesis. There is also considerable research on protein stability and folding. The courses will give an introduction to modern methods in structural biology and a deeper understanding of basic aspects of structure-function relationships in biologically active macromolecules. The study will also cover other fundamental aspects of structural chemistry.
