Erasmus Staff Week

Dear colleagues,

Experience the northernmost university in the world first hand! We invite you and your staff members to the first ERASMUS Staff Week at the University of Tromsø (UiT).

28 November - 2 December 2011.

The Staff Exchange Week offers you an excellent possibility to explore an excotic northern learning environment. As one of the four major universities in Norway the University of Tromsø educates students in all classical disciplines such as

• medicine and health studies
• humanities, social sciences and education
• science and technology
• law
• economics
• fine arts

UiT and other research institutions in Tromsø are highly committed to research and education on the Arctic in change. Polar research, marine sciences and ecology, Arctic biology and bioprospecting, international fisheries management, Law of the Sea, Russian studies, Peace and conflict transformation and indigenous studies are only some of the research areas which Tromsø institutions have developed in service to the High North.

All these research areas have a strong international dimension. International cooperation is therefore an important and integrated part of our research and educational activities. International students learn about global issues through research on local Arctic environments and northern societies.

 

The ERASMUS Staff Week at UiT

• introduces you to UiTs research and education, the city of Tromsø and life as an Erasmus student in Tromsø

• creates a platform for learning and discussions about topics relevant for ERASMUS coordinators and student advisors such as

• enhances networking between ERASMUS coordinators and student advisers from different countries

• will give new impulses for your daily work through exchange of experience and personal interaction
