Course contents

The course covers the background and methods of multivariate statistics, providing an overview of how data are summarized and hypotheses tested by classification and ordination techniques, and by computer intensive methods. Ideas and applications are illustrated by examples drawn from ecology, environmental biology and epidemiology.
Objective of the course

Objective of the course

The students will learn to choose, apply, interpret and communicate the results of analyses of multidimensional data while training on pc-lab projects with a focus on graphic display and hypothesis testing.

The course includes (10 h) lectures and integrated practicals in the PC laboratory (40 h).
Assessment

Assessment

Two mandatory oral presentations. Written report that answers the questions posed by a quantitative project.
