I am a researcher with a background in computer science and a passion for advancing healthcare through medical informatics, and I have dedicated my career to exploring the intersection of technology and healthcare.

Throughout my career, I've focused on several key areas, including self-management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and obesity. My research has involved developing digital health interventions and tools aimed at empowering patients to better manage their health and improve outcomes. More recently, I've expanded my work into clinical text mining, where I apply advanced natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of unstructured clinical data in electronic health record systems (EHR), often using interdisciplinary approaches that involve collaborating with clinicians, healthcare providers, and data scientists to address complex healthcare challenges and bridge the gap between research and practice.

In terms of teaching, I co-lecture a number of courses at the Department of Computer Science, and also co-supervise PhD candidates in the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) group.
