Job description

Florian Vidal holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (Paris Descartes University, France) and is a researcher in international affairs and science. He is currently a Research Fellow at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and an Associate Research Fellow at LIED, CNRS UMR 8236, Paris Cité University. He is also an Associate Fellow at French Institute of International Relations's Russia/Eurasia Center (previously 2-year Research Fellow). He is involved in several scientific groups, including a member of the ANR Strategic Metals research project funded by French National Research Agency and coordinated by the French Geological Survey (BRGM). Florian Vidal has extensive field experience in Northern Europe, Russia, and Latin America. He specializes in the resources-energy-technology nexus in light of the Anthropocene, including mining issues in remote areas (polar areas, seabeds, and outer space). He is a Visiting Lecturer at the Military Academy of Saint-Cyr.
