Job description

Dr. Tom Eide Osa is an Associate Professor in music education at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and was previously a Senior Lecturer at the Grieg Academy of music at the University of Bergen. His research interests and publications focus on the foundational thinking in music education related to musical performance as nonverbal practical and aesthetic knowledge. Osa is the author of the book Kunnskap i musikkutøving [Knowledge in Musical Performance] (2005), and holds a PhD from the University of Bergen with his dissertation Musikalske grammatikker [Musical Grammars] (2021), which empirically examines musical genres as the practices of various rule systems.
