EPINOR Newsletter February

Dear students, supervisors and EPINOR friends. Here is the EPINOR newsletter for February. We have new tips, job opportunities, in the media and more. We hope you will enjoy it! Please remember to send us useful tips if you have something to share with your fellow researches. We also wish that you send us tips if you or other EPINOR students have been in the media, have their dissertation coming up or other. Keep us up to date and send an email to Epinor@uit.no!


Administrative coordination in Tromsø: Bente is back!

Bente is back from maternity leave and Marie leaves EPINOR within the end of February.

In the Media

Kai Triebner won an Inspiration-award (100.000 NOK ) from the Norwegian Lung Association. The award is meant as a subsidy to PhD projects where there are a need for extra funds. Candidates under 45 years, who are invited by a foreign institution and who have a defined goal for the research stay is prioritized.

Semesterstartmeetings

Semesterstart meeting have taken place in EPINORs partner institutions. In Tromsø there was a short presentation of all participants, a short introduction to EPINOR and what we have to offer PHD students in addition to a presentation from previous EPINOR student, Therese H. Nøst, regarding contaminants in the Tromsø Study. 

In Bergen they had had an interesting and useful presentation and discussion on how to improve writing.

Funding

Five EPINOR students from different institutions, UiT, UiB, NTNU, UiO and the Norwegian Cancer Regsitry got their funding application approved this time. Congratulations! We encourage all of you who have relevant courses you wish to attend to apply for funding at our next deadline, September 15.
