Associate professor Marit Waaseth at "Farmasidagene"

Associate professor Marit Waaseth presented two posters during the annual "Farmasidagene" on November 5th and 6th 2015, both based on results from master projects performed by our former students Eirin Karlsen and Silje Brækkan Rønning.

Poster titles were "Use of non-hormonal therapies for menopausal symptoms - The Norwegian Women and Cancer study (NOWAC)" and  "Legemiddel-naturlegemiddel-interaksjoner - et potensielt helseproblem?", respectively.


Is research in pharmacies useful for patients?

Kristian Svendsen, postdoctor in our group, presented a lecture titled "Is research in pharmacies useful for patients?" on the annual meeting "Farmasidagene" held on November 5th and 6th 2015.

Kristian showed the audience some examples of research that is already performed in pharmacies and emphasized three necessary elements to promote such research; 1) resources, 2) research competence and 3) willingness to perform research.


 Our Master Student 2015

Birgitte Holmstad, our previous master student graduating in June 2015, presented results from her master thesis as a poster at the annual "Farmasidagene" on November 5th and 6th.

The title of the poster was: "Does the use of a written procedure reduce discrepancies in medication charts in hospitals?"

Holmstad is now employed at the Hospital Pharmacy Trust of North Norway, Bodø.


New PhD from our group

1st of October 2015, Dr. June Utnes Høgli excellently defended her Thesis entitled  "Appropriate antibiotic prescribing in Community-Acquired Pneumonia in a Norwegian hospital setting”

In the second photo, Dr. Høgli (in the middle) is surrounded by the scientific committee (from the left): Dr. Liv Mathiesen, Dr. Dag Berild, Dr. Massimilliano Pio De Cagno and Dr. Eyvind Paulssen (leader of the dissertation).
