The consultation is open to all citizens, administrations, associations and other organisations with an interest in animal and human health policy, animal health, public health, healthcare and/or the environment in Europe. The results of the consultation will be reviewed in-light of the Commission's existing action plan to address AMR and inform the production of a 'One Health action plan to support Member States in the fight against antimicrobial resistance'. A communication regarding this updated plan is anticipated in mid-2017.

The consultation will run from 27 January 2017 -28 April 2017 and citizens can contribute by accessing the online questionnaire. Other organisations can also contribute via a separate feedback form. during this period.

The term antimicrobial includes: antibiotic, antiprotozoal, antiviral and antifungal medicines. Antimicrobial Resistance arises when the micro-organisms that cause infection survive exposure to a medicine that would normally kill them or stop their growth.
