Marine Technologies ERA-NET Launches Funding Call worth €30m

​MarTERA, the European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) for marine technologies has opened a joint call for transnational research and innovation projects on marine and maritime technologies.

​MarTERA, the European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) for marine technologies has opened a joint call for transnational research and innovation projects on marine and maritime technologies.

ERA-NETs support joint programming initiatives between Member States in their establishment of networking structures; as well as the design, implementation and coordination of joint activities.

This particular call is initiated by 18 funding organisations of the former ERA-NET MARTEC consortium and JPI Oceans members from 16 countries/regions. The call will only be open to the following countries:
  • Argentina
  • Belarus
  • Belgium-Flanders
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Spain
  • South Africa
  • Turkey

 

The call targets the following five priority areas:
  1. Environmentally friendly maritime technologies;
  2. Development of novel materials and structures;
  3. Sensors, automation, monitoring and observations;
  4. Advanced manufacturing and production;
  5. Safety and security.

There will be a two-step procedure for proposal development: a pre-proposal and a full-proposal step. The deadline for the pre-proposals is 31 March 2017 and submissions should be made via the MarTERA webpage.

MarTERA has also organised a brokerage event to support the call, which will take place on 15 February 2017. The event will allow participants to network and identify partners.
