This year The Arctic University of Tromsø celebrates its 50th anniversary. The regional theatre of Northern Norway – Hålogaland Teater – tells the story of the university and the vital impact it has had – and has – on the entire Arctic region.
The gigantic production «Sykle i snøstorm» – which translates into «Bicycling in a Winter Blizzard» premieres on September 15th. This coming Saturday August 18th at 4 pm, as part of Tromsø International Week, actor Jørn Fuller-Gee will give you a free guided tour in English around the theatre to show you all the preparations taking place before opening night.
This is the story of what gave light to one of the most prestigious and advanced research and learning centres in the Arctic. And it is the story of the many Norwegian – and international – students who live and thrive in the exotic Arctic.
