The UIT Group in Narvik is R&D partner in BOS and Avinor project at OSL

November 2019: The ALI-T-Pilot project has started. Bertel O. Steen Industries and Avinor with partners have achieved NFR funding for a major R&D project at OSL at Gardermoen.  The idea is to revamp and modernize the baggage handling system.

The AI Group is going to develop a new, self-learning system to optimize baggage handling tasks. An auction combo rooted in game theory will be applied to support a deep reinforcement learning (RIL).  Each agent represents a device involved in dispatching bags and suitcases to and from aeroplanes.  As a consequence each device will be upgraded to a smart, but specialized robot.
