28.10.2020: Another student at the School of Business and Economics is infected with COVID-19


UiT has today, October 28th assisted the infection tracking team in Tromsø municipality after another student at the School of Business and Economics has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The student who is infected has participated in lectures at the School of Business and Economics in Tromsø and the infection tracking work is underway.

Affected premises will be washed before they are put back in use.

– As a result of the fact that there are now two students at the School of Business and Economics in Tromsø who are infected and that the infection detection work is ongoing, we are implementing some temporary measures until the end of this week, says the University Director Jørgen Fossland.

The following measures are implemented at the School of Business and Economics in Tromsø:

  • Lectures and seminars will be digital as of October 29th.
  • Students and staff are encouraged to study and work from home and not come to campus.

The decision is in effect until and including Sunday, November 1st.

Affected students and employees will receive further information from the School of Business and Economics.

After consultation with the infection control authorities, lectures and other activities at UiT in Tromsø will continue as planned.

The situation is closely monitored and the University Director asks everyone to be vigilant and contact the corona center for testing in case of symptoms.

The implemented measures will not affect lectures and operations at the School of Business and Economics in Harstad, Narvik or Alta.
