25.10.2020: UiT closes its premises in Hammerfest from Tuesday 27 October
As a result of the infection situation in Hammerfest and UiT's proximity to the hospital, the UiT management has decided to close UiT's premises in Hammerfest until further notice as of Tuesday 27 October. In this way, UiT wants to contribute to combating the outbreak in the municipality.
Employees are to work from home, and students are offered digital teaching. The premises will be open on Monday 26 October so that employees and students can pick up the necessary equipment. There are 40 employees and 215 students at UiT in Hammerfest.
– We ask all our students and employees to follow the advice and recommendations that come from the municipality and national authorities on infection control, says assistant university director Gøril Heitmann.
A new assessment of the operating situation at UiT in Hammerfest will take place within a week.
