01.11.2020: The measures at the School of Business and Economics at UiT in Tromsø are extended until and including Wednesday, 4. November

UiT has today, 1. November, decided to extend the measures for employees and students to work and study from home until and including Wednesday, 4. November. All lectures are digital during the same period.

On Friday 30 October, a new student was confirmed positive for covid-19 at the School of Business and Economics.

– The latest case of infection can be linked to a known infection cluster at the School of Business and Economics and there is no reason to assume that we have an outbreak of infection on campus. To be on the safe side, School of Business and Economics in Tromsø is still extending its infection prevention measures until and including Wednesday 4. November, says University Director Jørgen Fossland.

This means:

  • all lectures at the School of Business and Economics are digital until and including Wednesday
  • students and staff at the School of Business and Economics are encouraged to study and work from home and not come to the campus in Tromsø. Note that this applies to all premises at UiT's campus in Tromsø, including the university library

Affected students and employees will be kept informed of any consequences for lectures and access to facilities on campus from the School of Business and Economics.

After consultation with the infection control authorities, lectures and other activities at UiT in Tromsø will continue as planned.

The measures will not affect lectures and operation at the School of Business and Economics in Harstad, Narvik and Alta.

The situation is closely monitored and the University Director urges everyone to pay special attention and contact the corona center for testing if they have symptoms.
