03.11.2020: Two employees at UiT in Harstad is confirmed as infected
Two employees at UiT in Harstad have tested positive for covid-19.
Both have had limited contact with students and colleagues recently and are in isolation. The infection tracing team in Harstad municipality is working on tracing and contacting those who are defined as close contacts.
Harstad municipality has recommended employees with tasks that do not require physical attendance to work from home all or part of the current week. UiT has therefore encouraged students and staff to study and work from home where practically possible. There will be changes in the lectures and some will be digital. Affected students will be informed by their study program.
– We do not consider this an outbreak of infection on campus, but to be on the safe side, we have chosen to implement these measures this week, says University Director Jørgen Fossland.
The situation is closely monitored and the University Director asks everyone to pay special attention and contact the corona center for testing if they have symptoms.
