15.01.2021: Digital lectures and use of home offices will continue until 31 January
As a result of the unresolved situation nationally, digital lectures and use of home offices, introduced at UiT January 4–18, will be extended until 31 January 2021.
For selected student groups, on campus education in person will be provided during this period. The students in question will be notified by their study program. Notice will be given well in advance for the students that have to meet in person.
Although most of the lectures are digital throughout January, the University Campus is open to both students and staff. Everyone who stays at one of our campuses must comply with the current infection control rules at UiT as well as the restrictions in the relevant municipality. We point out that some of our host municipalities have more intrusive infection control rules than the national regulations. For current rules at Campus Harstad see this link.
Planned practicums will not be affected, and students who will commence practicums will follow the practicum site regulations for infection control.
We all want more predictability and decisions that apply for longer periods of time. Unfortunately, this is not possible today. UiT follows national and local advice and guidelines for operation and infection control and these may be changed on short notice.
The university leadership would like to thank students and staff once again for their great patience and extraordinary efforts during a very demanding time.
Sincerely,
Anne Husebekk, Rector
Jørgen Fossland, University Director
