For two days, twenty-two students from various BA and MA programs at UiT (including from our Master’s Program in Peace and Conflict Transformation) participated in an intensive simulation of the United Nations Security Council, discussing the humanitarian crisis and the conflict in Yemen. At the end of intensive debates, the students, representing the current fifteen members of the UN Security Council and the three invited states Yemen, Iran and Saudi Arabia, concluded the simulation by passing a resolution tackling the situation in Yemen. You can find the final resolution attached to this report (scroll down).

The 2019 CPS Model United Nations was organized in cooperation with the UN Association of Norway (FN-Sambandet) and is planned to return in 2020. So, if you are interested in international relations and the United Nations, follow us and stay tuned!
