The Indian Ambassador Krishan Kumar visits CPS for Gandhi anniversary

On January 30, the Indian Ambassador, Krishan Kumar, together with UiT Rektor Anne Husebekk and Deputy Mayor Jarle Aarbakke, celebrated peace and friendship by the bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the UiT Campus 


UiT to present award for best master’s thesis on Indigenous peoples UiT has established the Árdna Award and will present it to the student with the best master’s thesis of the year that focuses on Indigenous peoples. The prize comes with 10 000 NOK and a Riddu Riđđu festival pass.

From dinner in Paris to Indigenous Citizenship and Education The Indigenous Citizenship and Education (ICE) project began as a conversation that took place over dinner, in Paris in 2014. Future members of the team were there, hoping to get funding for an EU project.

Financial support for Sami and indigenous topics The Centre for Sami Studies is announcing the availability of strategy funds for students at Master's or Doctorate level with Sami or indigenous research topics in their thesis. The application deadline is 6th April, 2018.

Postdoctoral Fellow on Indigenous Citizenship and Education Position available as Postdoctoral Fellow at The Centre for Sami Studies. The position is attached to the research group Skuvllas and the research project Indigenous Citizenship and Education (ICE). Application deadline 1 February 2018.

New Academic Director at the Centre for Sami Studies Niklas Labba is employed as new Academic Director at the Centre for Sami Studies (Sesam). The position is a fixed-term post for 4 years.
