Celebration of the Indigenous master’s students 12 June we celebrated the Indigenous master’s students who had been studying for two years. On behalf of the students Jean Kavanagh gave this speech:

UiT to present award for best master’s thesis on Indigenous peoples UiT has established the Árdna Award and will present it to the student with the best master’s thesis of the year that focuses on Indigenous peoples. The prize comes with 10 000 NOK and a Riddu Riđđu festival pass.

Established a copy of his own UiT-degree When Asebe completed his Master in Indigenous Studies at UiT, his goal was to establish a sister-programme to the study programme in Ethiopia. Today, Dilla University has an Institute of Indigenous Studies.

From dinner in Paris to Indigenous Citizenship and Education The Indigenous Citizenship and Education (ICE) project began as a conversation that took place over dinner, in Paris in 2014. Future members of the team were there, hoping to get funding for an EU project.

Financial support for Sami and indigenous topics The Centre for Sami Studies is announcing the availability of strategy funds for students at Master's or Doctorate level with Sami or indigenous research topics in their thesis. The application deadline is 6th April, 2018.

New Academic Director at the Centre for Sami Studies Niklas Labba is employed as new Academic Director at the Centre for Sami Studies (Sesam). The position is a fixed-term post for 4 years.
