My research spans different aspects of aquaculture, with some bias towards environmental effects on the farmed organism. I have worked with different aspects of feed and feeding, including development of feed for closed production systems (RAS) and feed management in commercial scale facilities. My research also inlclude capture based aquaculture on cod. For more than 15 years I have been involved in research on different aspects of effects imposed by fish farms on the environment, particularly how wild fish may be affected.
I am responsible for a course in nutrition in fish (BIO 2602), which is compulsory to aquamedicine students and also attended by some Fisheries and Aquaculture students and others who study biology.
I also teach in other courses at the University, like Fish physiology (BIO 2404), Fangstteknologi i marint fiske (FSK 2008), Fishery Biology and Harvest Technology (BIO 3556), Oppdrettsteknologi (FSK 2010) and introduction to fish biology (BIO 2506).
