2023_External Lecture: Sonic Visions of Arctic

Åsa Stjerna is a Swedish artist who uses sound and listening as artistic methods of exploration. Through transdisciplinary approaches, her site-specific work explores connections between the past and the present, the local and the global, as well as the human and the more-than-human. In this way, she tries to reformulate listening and create an understanding of places as complex ecologies. The majority of her projects involve scientific collaboration and explore how collaboration between science and art can create new artistic forms of listening that deepen our relationship to the world around us.
