Green computing - Environment-friendly technology for sustainable services over the data deluge

Welcome to NT-lunch seminar, the third in a series of four popular science seminars this semester.There will be served a "lunch-to-go" and we therefore need you to sign up for the event. Lunch is served 11.15 and the talk starts at 11.30. The seminar is open for everybody, join us!

Have you ever wished a longer battery life for your mobile devices, especially when participating in video conferences or watching videos on YouTube? Do you know that Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is responsible for up to 10% of the European electricity consumption and 4% of its carbon emissions? In this talk, associate professor Phuong Hoai Ha will give an overview on the green computing technology that can significantly improve energy efficiency in ICT, making ICT services sustainable over the data deluge.
