Conference dinner at Fjellheisen

The conference dinner is at the top of the mountain ledge Storsteinen (421 m above sea level). We will depart from Scandic Ishavshotel together by taxis to the cable car that will bring us up to the mountain and the restaurant (https://fjellheisen.no/en/). There, you will have time to admire the view and have the opportunity to take photographs before we head inside for dinner.

If the weather is clear and we’re very lucky, there might be a chance of seeing the northern lights after dark, but there is unfortunately no northern lights guarantee.

After dinner, everybody is on their own. The cable car leaves every half hour and takes 4 minutes. Bus no. 26 from Fjellheisen into the city centre corresponds with the cable car and leaves 17 and 47 min past the hour every hour. The last cable car leaves at 10 p.m.

Tromsø taxi’s phone number is (+47) 03011

If you prefer a nice evening walk after dinner, it takes about 30 minutes to walk from the cable car to the city centre, past the famous Arctic Cathedral (http://www.ishavskatedralen.no/en/the-arctic-cathedral/) and across the bridge from the mainland to Tromsøya, the island on which the city centre of Tromsø and UiT are located.
