Ultima Thule

Ultima Thule is the University Library’s collection of older printed materials (primarily dating back to before the 1900s) relating to the High North in a broad sense. The collection includes travelogues, expedition reports, older research work, fiction, maps, Arctic history, portrayals of the Sami people, etc. Literature about Antarctica is also included in the collection. The collection is stored in the University Library's special collections room. A limited number of titles can be borrowed for use in the reading room.
