The department is run by Head of Department and leader supprt. In addition, the department has a managing team consisting of the head of each discipline.

Administrative services are given by the Unit for Department administration. This unit takes care of cases like student contact, education and exams. In addition, they provide leader support both to head of departments and head of the disciplines. 

There are two safety delegates. Hege Olaussen (deputy: Merete Andersen) is safety delegate for the following area: A- and E-wing in Breivika 3. Janet Handley (deputy: Valentina Zhukova) is safety delegate for the following area: Breiviklia.
