Plan your visit to Polstjerna

Visiting on foot:

Polstjerna is located at the southern end of downtown Tromsø, within easy walking distance from most of the city’s hotels. 

Visiting by car:

Polstjerna does not have its own car park. However, there are a public carpark right beside the entrance to the museum. Museum visitors may park here for a fee, which may be paid by card, cash or by downloading the Easypark app. 

Visiting by bus:

Given its central location, you can catch many different buses to reach Polstjerna. You can use this travel planner to check which bus number and departure time to take to get to the museum.  The nearest bus stop to Polstjerna is "Polaria". 

If you visit the city’s tourist information office at Visit Tromsø, you can buy the Tromsø Pass. The provides unlimited bus travel during the specified period as well as admission to a range of attractions in Tromsø, including both our museums. 

You can buy bus tickets at several kiosks in Tromsø, the ticket counter at the Tromsø Passenger Terminal or via the “Troms Billett” app. Another option is to buy an electronic travel card (Tromskortet).

Groups (min. 10 persons): NOK 100,- per person

Annual ticket 365 days one adult: NOK 500,-
The annual pass provides free admission for the passholder and one additional guest when standard admission applies. Some guided tours and events may require an additional ticket. The annual pass is valid at all our visitor venues for one year from the date of purchase.

In addition, free admission* is offered to:

• Companions (with a valid companion card)
• Holders of the Opplevelseskortet and one accompanying adult
• Individuals who work with informing visitors and tourists about activities and attractions in Tromsø (valid identification required)

 *free admission when standard admission applies. Some guided tours and events may require an additional ticket.
