Plan your visit to The Arctic University Museum of Norway

The museum is situated on the south of Tromso island, at Lars Thøringsveg 10, about half an hour walk from the city centre. 

Parking

If you come by car, you will find parking on the right side of the main entrance. You can pay by creditcard or download the Easypark-app. 

If you come riding a bike, you can park it to the left of the main entrance. 

Walking, skiing, biking

The scenery surrounding the museum is beautiful, and there are several paths and a light trail that you can follow to get to us. During winter, we are one in few museums that can offer ski-in, with ski slopes running all the way to the museum. 

Bus

Traveling from the city center / "Bankgata": Bus no. 40 (to Tromsø Museum) or 33 (to Telegrafbukta).

If you plan to go by bus, you can use this travel planner to find information about the timetables and how to buy tickets. Our nearest bus stop is called Tromsø Museum, served by bus line no. 40 or bus no. 33 to the stop Telegrafbukta. The local tourist information Visit Tromso, also offer a Tromsø pass that gives you entrance to several of the attractions and museums in the city, and it also includes bus tickets.

The Arctic University Museum of Norway is open all days during the year except:

This tour must be booked 48 hours in advance.

Price per adult: 390 NOK

A guided tour of our northern lights exhibion Under the Lights.

The price for the tour includes entry tickets to the Arctic University Museum and the 80-page book Way North: Arctic Lights.
