ERC Indicative Call Dates for 2021
Due to the launch of the new framework programme Horizon Europe, there are alterations to the usual grant cycle.

ERC Indicative Call Dates for 2021:
2021 Starting grant
- Call opens: 12 January 2021
- Call deadline: 9 March 2021
2021 Consolidator grant
- Call opens: 21 January 2021
- Call deadline: 20 April 2021
2021 Advanced grant
- Call opens: 20 May 2021
- Call deadline: 31 August 2021
2021 Proof of Concept grant
- Call opens: 14 January 2021
- Call deadline 1: 16 March 2021
- Call deadline 2: 17 June 2021
- Call deadline 3: 20 October 2021
The ERC is not anticipating a Synergy grant call under the 2021 ERC Work Programme. However, there is due to be a Synergy grant call in the 2022 ERC Work Programme which may open during 2021.
Please note that the above call deadlines are unconfirmed at this point in Horizon Europe's preparation. Until the next seven-year budget has been agreed by the EU Member States, work programmes for Horizon Europe cannot yet be finalised or published. Therefore, depending on how budget negotiations progress, we could see changes to these indicative dates.
