John Oyem
Job description
John Chukwuma Oyem is the avdelingsingeniør (Department Engineer) at the Department of Anatomy, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He holds a background in Human Anatomy and Cell Biology and a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience, with doctoral research focused on how the brain's reward system regulates motivation under normal and disrupted physiological conditions.
In his current role, John is responsible for the organisation, maintenance, and daily operation of the anatomy laboratories and teaching collections. This includes the preparation, setup, and clearance of teaching spaces for anatomy courses and practical sessions, as well as the management of anatomical collections comprising normal and pathological wet preparations, osteological specimens, embryological models, histological slides, and an extensive collection of plastic anatomical models spanning all body systems.
