Kristine Stifjell

Job description

Kristine's project focuses on identifying where young adults (18+) find health information online and how they incorporate it into their daily lives. She is particularly interested in understanding the specific informational needs expressed by young adults in their digital interactions.

Kristine is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Health Communication on the project Healthy Choices and the social gradient, and WP5: Healthy choices and novel science communication. The object of the study is to map young adults` online health information seeking behavior (OHISB) and their needs regarding targeted communication. The findings aim to contribute to reducing the disparity in the social gradient by facilitating informed choices.

Kristine also serves as the project manager (PI) for the novel dissemination pilot UniVerse - A Space to Think: Physical Activity. In this project, students from Kongsbakken Upper Secondary School, health researchers from UiT, and local artists collaboratively tested innovative, tailored research dissemination through performing arts. A link to the final report will be provided here.

She has also developed an Escape Room for workshops and teaching on the development of health literacy. A link to the page will be added here.

In 2025, Kristine was hired as a researcher on a novel dissemination project on vape/e-sigarette at UiT.
