Roberto Sacco
Job description
Prof. Sacco holds the position of Oral Health Rsearch Group Leader at UiT.
Prof. Sacco has been actively involved in pre-clinical studies, clinical research and secondary research since he’s graduated. He has been in charge of study planning and design of study methods including patient recruitment, definition of outcomes and data analysis. Additional he has also cooperated with many research groups (USA, Brazil, UK, Italy, Chile). He has completed two PhD’s. His first PhD was awarded from the Fluminense Federal University. His second PhD was awarded by the Eastman Dental Institute. Both PhD’s were focused on medication related osteonecrosis of the jaw.
Research interests
Prof. Sacco main research interests include primary and secondary research. The topics he’s currently researching are: management of jaw bone disease, bone regeneration, implantology, hard and soft tissue healing mechanisms
Teaching
Prof. Sacco has taught at various institutions, including the University of Lancashire, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, The Manchester University, University College of London and King's College London.
Prof. Sacco has also been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education. Throughout his teaching career, Prof. Sacco has participated in student assessments using summative and formative assessment tools. His educational activities have been associated with educational GDC principle, booklets, textbooks, and online material, which have been evaluated using a score system. None of his activities have been scored insufficiently.
Overall, his teaching experience spans from undergraduate education to postgraduate education, with his contributions to various institutions and programs.
