Job description

I am the administrative coordinator for iC3 (Centre for Ice, Cryosphere, Carbon and Climate) which is a centre of excellence funded by the Research Council of Norway and based at Geosciences, UiT, Tromsø. 

I hold a Master of Science in Biology specialising in biodiversity, evolution and ecology from the University of Bergen. My academic background is complemented by extensive experience at the interface of science, policy, administration, and international cooperation.

For over 13 years, I worked as a Scientific Officer at the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). During this time, I contributed to high-level processes such as the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), while also supervising research projects and organising European expert workshops.

At BfN’s International Academy for Nature Conservation (INA), I was responsible for the conceptual, pedagogical, and organisational delivery of national and international conferences and training courses. I worked closely with policy stakeholders, scientific and international organisations such as UNEP, IUCN, and various German Universities and contributed to long-standing training programmes for professionals and postgraduate students from around the world.
