Job description

As a Senior Engineer in Molecular Biosystems and Bioinformatics, I combine expertise in molecular biology with software engineering to develop sophisticated research tools and applications. I am part of the ELIXIR Norway project, contributing to the development and maintenance of national bioinformatics infrastructure.

My primary focus is on creating user-centric browser-based solutions that support scientific research and data analysis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the development team in creating and maintaining bioinformatics software solutions for ELIXIR Norway, Tromsø node.
  • Designing and implementing scalable applications using cloud technologies and Kubernetes
  • Ensuring robust deployment and operation of research-supporting software systems
  • Bridging the gap between biological research needs and technical implementations

Applying analytical approaches from molecular biology to solve complex software engineering challenges
My background in molecular biology enables me to effectively translate scientific requirements into practical software solutions, while my technical expertise ensures the delivery of reliable, cutting-edge research tools.
