After studying philosophy at the universities of Münster, Bonn and Freiburg i. Br., Beatrix Himmelmann received her PhD from Justus Liebig University of Gießen in 1995 and her Habilitation from Humboldt University of Berlin in 2002. She has taught philosophy at Humboldt University and, as a Visiting Lecturer and Visiting Professor, at Zurich University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Brown University. In 2010, she joined the Department of Philosophy at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway.
