Research interests
My research focuses on the north-Fennoscandian mountain birch forest, which constitutes the ecotone between boreal forest and low-arctic tundra. Within this system, I have a particular focus on biotic disturbances in the form of outbreaks of herbivorous insects (geometrid moths). These stand at the center of a varied research portfolio that includes population dynamics, food-web interactions, ecological resilience, community dynamics, climate effects and management.
