Job description
I am a PhD Research Fellow in marine ecotoxicology at the Department of Arctic and Marine Biology. My research focuses on the effects of environmental contaminants on Arctic marine organisms, with particular emphasis on receptor-mediated mechanisms of action and temperature-dependent effects. I combine computational approaches, including molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations, with experimental methods to investigate the potential biological effects of environmental contaminants.

Research interests
My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of environmental contaminants on Arctic marine organisms, with particular emphasis on receptor-mediated mechanisms of action and temperature-dependent responses.
As part of the Polhavet 2050 (Arctic Ocean 2050) research programme, I investigate how environmental contaminants interact with molecular targets and how Arctic environmental conditions may influence these interactions and their potential biological consequences.
My research combines computational approaches, including molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations and structure-based screening, with experimental methods such as receptor-based assays and ex vivo tissue models. A central objective is to develop and apply mechanistically informed approaches for identifying and prioritising contaminants of potential ecological concern in Arctic marine ecosystems.
