    Research interests

Research interests evolve around questions about health inequities and structural causes of ill-health, currently focusing on immigrant health.

In particular, I am interested in understanding how marginalized groups experience their health and well-being and how they deal with ill-health. Moreover, I am interested in the  role of the welfare state and legal institutions on the health of marginalized groups and invidiuals. Another interested evolves around the role of climate, environmental and societal changes regarding health and health inequities.

I am primary or co-supervisor for several masterstudents and PhD students.

I am currently part of the following projects:

    IMPACT (involved)

    Helsekartlegging av nyankomne flyktninger (PI)

    HelseIntro (PI)

    Teaching

I am involved in teaching medical students in general practice, community medicine and global health.

Currently, I am responsible for the course "Primærmedisin" for 4-th year medical students.
