Rebecca Anne Hetland
Job description
Rebecca A. Hetland is a medical doctor, graduated from UiT The Arctic University of Norway. She is currently working as a doctoral research fellow on the project "Social inequality in non-communicable diseases (NCD) and associated risk factors," utilizing data from The Tromsø Study. The project aims to investigate the socio-economic gradient in risk factors and the occurrence of NCDs in Tromsø7 (2015-16), examining the extent to which risk factors and diseases co-occur in individuals. Additionally, the study will explore whether the social gradient in risk factors, new cases, and NCD comorbidity changes between Tromsø4 (1994-5) and Tromsø7 across age and gender groups.
In addition to her doctoral work, Rebecca A. Hetland, along with Hilde Espnes, serves as the questionnaire editor for the eighth Tromsø Study (Tromsø8), scheduled to be conducted in 2025-2026.
