Higher Education Entrance Qualification is the general basis for admission to universities and university colleges in Norway. For applicants with foreign basic education, the requirements are specified in the Country (GSU) List, click on the red button below.
WHAT DOES GSU-LIST CONTAIN?
It specifies the type of upper/senior school education you must have to qualify for admission to UiT The Arctic University of Norway,
For some countries, you are required to have year(s) of higher education from a recognised programme from a recognised institution of higher education to be qualified for admission to UIT
It also specifies whether a proof of English language proficiency is required or exempted for certain countries.
2- Proof of English Proficiency
An international student’s English skills must pass the English tests that UiT accepts (information about the required scores can be found in the link below).
There are no preparatory courses in English available.

3- Proof of Financial Ability
International students from outisde EU/EEA must have access to enough funds to pay for own living expenses for at least one academic year. If admitted, these funds must be transferred to the Student Deposit in Norway to apply for student visa (Study Permit). If financial ability is not documented, the application for admission will be rejected, regardless of academic qualifications.
International applicants living in Norway: you do not need to submit proof of financial ability. You just need to upload a copy of your Norwegian Residency Card.
UiT The Arctic University of Norway has no scholarships to offer to cover your living expenses in Norway unless you already have one before your arrival or under certain exchange schemes in collaboration with UiT and your home university:
