Inbound student mobility: how to apply (step-by-step guide)?

Nomination is required!

All exchange/trainee student must be nominated electronically through an established institutional agreement. Without a formal agreement in place, we can not accept your application or enrol you as an active student at UiT.

  • You want to be nominated to UiT as an exchange student? Please contact the international office or your outbound mobility coordinator at your home university.
  • Does my university has an agreement with UiT? Please contact the international office or your outbound mobility coordinator at your home university.
  • Free-mover / Short stay during summer: it is unfortunately not possible to come to UiT as a free mover or during the summer vacation (June - July) as an exchange or traineeship student!

How can I access the application system?

Once nominated by your home university, you will receive an e-mail from UiT with a direct link to the online application portal and instructions about how to apply.

Please contact your exchange coordinator (international office) at your university to know which of your e-mail addresses your coordinator used to nominate you to UiT. Your e-mail address is your username to access the Application Web to upload your documents.

Do you have questions about the courses at UIT?

Exchange coordinators at our faculties will advise you on the requirements for each course and whether you can take the course or not given your educationcal background. Please note: you must carefully go through Step #2 to know which course belongs to which faculty/department/institute before contacting any coordinator.

Required documents & Learning Agreement

The required documents in the following link must be uploaded on UiT online application portal within the specified deadlines. Incomplete applications will be rejected! Please note: you must also consult with your exchange coordinator before adding any course to your Learning Agreement. The Learning Agreement must be approved by your home university (signed and stamped by the person responsible of your exchange abroad).

Please note: exchange students must be physically onsite in Norway and actively participate in courses. Application for online courses does not entitle the student for exchange status.

You have finished your application, what's next?

You can change your application by adding or removing a document until the specified deadlines (23:59 Norwegian Standard Time). The status of your application will be "Under consideration" until the admission is finalized.
