Required documents

After you have been nominated by your home university as an exchange student to UiT The Arctic University of Norway, you must upload the following docuemnts on the Application Web (Søknadsweb):

How to access the online Application Web (Søknadsweb)?

1A - Download Learning Agreement (Erasmus +)


1B - Download Learning Agreement (NON-Erasmus + programmes)

Please note:
Learning Agreement: your home institution must sign this document. You do not need a signature from UiT on your learning agreement at the time of application. (If admitted, you will receive a signed learning agreement from UiT with your letter of admission).


2- Upload Transcript of Records (original and verified (signed and stamped) copy in English


3- Upload National ID Card (EU students) OR Passport (non-EU students)


How to access the online Application Web (Søknadsweb):

    • Firstly, you must be nominated by your exchange coordinator (outgoing mobility) at your home university to access our online Application Web (Søknadsweb). Once nominated, you will receive an e-mail from UiT The Arctic University of Norway with instructions (sent to the e-mail address that your coordinator used for the nomination).

    • Log in to complete your application on Søknadsweb:

      1- Søknadsweb: Use the link in the nomination e-mail you have received from UiT The Arctic University of Norway to go to the online Application Web (Søknadsweb).

      2-Language: Select English language in the top menu.

      3- Choose UiT The Arctic University of Norway as your institution.

      4- choose "International Applicant", and log in with your e-mail address and password. To request a new password, please click on "Send me a new password".

      5- Create your profile (My profile): On this page you must enter your correct postal address in your home country. Please ensure you enter:

      • Postal code/zip code and city.
      • Mobile number: country code and mobile number
      • Language: choose English
      • Click on the green button "SAVE" to continue. You will then be directed to the application page.

      Please note: Do NOT use the link "New application" to apply on Søknadsweb, as this is aimed at other student categories.

      Please note:
      Please use the same email used by your mobility officer at home university to nominate you to log in or communicate with us via international@uit.no . If you do not know the email used to nominate you, please contact your mobility officer.


      6- My applications: by clicking on the gray button with pencil "Change application" under My applications you can choose the semester and campus you are nominated to (choose application alternative).
      Click on the green button "SAVE" to continue. You will then be directed to the application page.

      Please note: Do NOT use the link "New application" to apply on Søknadsweb, as this is aimed at other student categories.


      7- Upload the required documents by clicking on "My documents" on the online Application Web (Søknadsweb)

      For desktop computer users, the botton "My Documents" is at the top of the webpage. For tablet and mobile users, the botton "My Documents" is under the menu sign at the top left-hand side of the webpage.

      Please note: Do NOT use the link "New application" to apply on Søknadsweb, as this is aimed at other student categories.

      Confirmation of Receipt: our application system is based on self-service, which means it is your responsibility to make sure that all required documents are uploaded correctly. Use your e-mail (username) and password to log into your account on the Application Web (Søknadsweb). We do not have the capacity to confirm receipt of your application until they have been completely assessed. We will not reply to e-mails regarding the receipt of the applications in this period.

      8- How to check your application status on Søknadsweb?

      Click on the menu "My Applications" (in the Application Web - Søknadsweb): to check the status and receipt of your nomination/application.

    • Criteria for a successful application:

      All supporting documents must be uploaded by the specified deadlines: 1. October (spring semester) and 15 April (autumn semester). All documents (including official translations) must be in English or in Scandinavian languages (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian. Any incomplete applications or applications containing documents in other languages will not be considered. Please read the requirements for a successful application.

    • Your application status:

      You can keep track of each of your documents by logging into the Application Web (Søknadsweb). Please read the Admission process for inbound student exchange

    • Apply for student housing and start planning your arrival at UiT
