📋 Eligible fields of traineeships in clinical medicine and healthcare sciences

Clinical rotations and practical placements in healthcare are only available to students from UiT's partner universities. Unfortunately, students cannot apply independently.

Placement opportunities are available in the following fields:

  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Paramedicine
  • Radiography
  • Midwifery
  • Social Education
  • Biomedical Laboratory Sciences

đŸš« Freemover policy

UiT does not accept freemover or independent students for hospital and clinical placements in Northern Norway, including: Alta, Bardufoss, Bodø, Hammerfest, Harstad, Kirkenes, Mo i Rana, and Tromsø.

This applies to clinical medicine and all related health care diciplines.

Not sure whether your university has a partnership agreement with UiT? Please contact the Erasmus+ Coordinator or International Office at your home university.


📹 How does the nomination process work?

Clinical rotations and practical placements in the health sciences are only available through UiT's partner universities. Students cannot nominate themselves.

Before each nomination deadline, the Faculty Coordinator at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UiT, will contact partner institutions directly by email. The email will include:

  • A link to the online nomination form
  • Nomination instructions

Partner institutions must submit nominations through the online form before the relevant deadline.

If your institution has not received the nomination form before the nomination deadline, please contact: mobility@uit.no


✅ Nominations and application deadlines

Partner universities will receive an email invitation to nominate students through UiT's online nomination form.

Nomination deadlines

  • Clinical Rotations in Medicine: 10 September / 10 March
  • Nursing and Biomedical Laboratory Science: 15 September / 15 March
  • All Other Programmes: 15 October / 15 April

Student application deadlines

Once nominated, students will receive an email with application instructions and a link to the online application form.

  • Clinical Rotations in Medicine: 1 October / 1 April
  • Nursing and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences: 15 October / 15 April
  • All Other Programmes: 1 November / 1 May

After receiving your nomination and application, we will begin the process of arranging your practical or clinical placement. We will contact you as soon as possible with updates.
