Incoming exchange students: list of required documents for exchange

LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS - APPLICATION WEB (SØKNADSWEB)

You must upload the required documentation listed below on the Application Web (Søknadsweb) within 30 April for commencement in the autumn semester and 31 October for commencement in the spring semester.

Please make sure to:

  1. Scan your original documents and convert them to PDF by using a printer or by downloading Microsoft Lens (Microsoft Lens for iOS / Microsoft Lens for Android ) on your device. We DO NOT accept any documentation by email!
  2. NOT upload your documents as picture/image files (PNG, JPG, etc.), ZIP or RAR files! Such files are easily corruptible after upload, which make them difficult to open during the application assessment.

If all relevant documents are not handed in, this may lead to you having to wait longer for an answer or your application being rejected.

    COMPLETE LEARNING AGREEMENT

    NOTE: The Learning Agreement Form must be complete - all fields must be filled out.

    ERASMUS+ STUDENTS (from European universities) you must can send your Online Learning Agreement (OLA) after you have received your Letter of Offer (Acceptance Letter) from UiT.

    CURRENT TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS (MUST BE IN ENGLISH, NORWEGIAN, DANISH OR SWEDISH)

    The transcript of records should include the list of courses for all the semesters that you have completed at your university with or without final grades, including your last semester.

    • 1- Bachelor's transcript of records: if you are selecting courses on bachelor's level. Courses on bachelor's level start with the numbers 1000 to 2000 in the Course Catalogue.

    • 2- Master''s transcript of records: if you are going to select courses on master's level. Courses on master's level start with the numbers 3000 to 4000 in the Course Catalogue.

    TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE IN ENGLISH OR IN NORWEGIAN/DANISH/SWEDISH: Transcript of Records (Relevé de notes, Certificato di laurea, Expediente académico & Studienbuch) issued in a different language than English or one of the Nordic languages (Danish, Norwegian & Swedish), must be translated into Norwegian or English. The translation must be done by the educational institution or a government-authorised translator. It must be apparent in the document which individual has done the translation with an official seal/stamp.

    ELECTRONIC TRANSCRIPTS: We accept electronically issued transcript of records if they are official and approved by your home university.

    GRADE EXPLANATION: Please make sure that your transcript of record contains grade explanation .

    INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT (NON-EU CITIZENS) OR ID CARD (EU CITIZENS).

    EU/EEA NATIONALS: you can upload a copy of your National ID Card or passport in PDF

    NON-EU/EEA NATIONALS: you MUST upload a copy of your International Passport in PDF

    Personal and sensitive documentation uploaded on the Application Web is protected by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    PROOF OF ENGLISH / NORWEGIAN PROFICIENCY

    As a rule, you must have a good command of English at least B2 level or C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

    ERASMUS+ STUDENTS (non-Nordic nationals): Please see this website English proficiency requirements

    NORDIC STUDENTS from Finland (including Åland Islands), Denmark (including The Faroe Islands & Greenland), Iceland and Sweden: you DO NOT need to document any proof of English or Norwegian language proficiency if you have studied a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) and English during your upper secondary school education.

    Students from universities in Australia, Canada, Ireland , the UK and the USA: you DO NOT need to document any proof of English langauge proficiency if you are a native speaker or studiying primarily in English at your home university.

    RESUME/CV (ONLY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND)

    Please upload a resumé or CV of only only your educational background (upper school, bachelor, master or PhD and it should be chronological in order .

    The CV should be short, concise and contain information about: 1- your name and 2- information about your bachelor's and/or master's degree

    NEVER click on the tab "NEW APPLICATION" When you log in the Application Web! This tab is not for exchange students.
