Course contents
The course is focused on physical oceanography of the world´s oceans, aquatic biology and ecology. The oceanography part contains topics as topography, characteristics of seawater (salinity, temperature, density), water-currents and sampling methods. The biology part focus on tropho-dynamics and taxa with economical significance as food for man (benthic algae, crustaceans, molluscans, echinoderms, ascidians, fish and marine mammals).
Objective of the course
Main object of the course is to give the students basic knowledge of aquatic biology and physical oceanography with focus on the marine environment and organisms which can be used as food for man.

2 hours written examination.
