Course contents
Leadership and organizing in early-stage venturing has much to do with facilitating relationships as well as establishing managerial roles and structures. The assets are, to a large extent, in the minds of the key people in the team, and the company culture emerges from the way in which team individuals behave towards each other and how the venture is managed. The course therefore gives theoretical and practical insights on how to manage knowledge and networks by covering the following themes: - Relationships and networks - Social capital and trust - Strategic alliances and resources - Leadership and coaching - Group dynamics and conflict resolution - Negotiations
Objective of the course
The overall purpose of the course is to gain knowledge of the importance of social structures and processes for entrepreneurial resource acquisition, creativity and innovation, and training in how to apply this knowledge in a practical setting. The course will enable students to: - Acquire terminologies and theories in the field of networking and alliances and apply this to case studies as well as real life situations - Develop personal skills in networking, trust building and team work - Coach others as well as be coached by others - Reflect upon and develop entrepreneurial identity, leader style and ways of handling complex group dynamics. - Prepare and conduct negotiations with partners and team members, capturing joint interests and recognizing individual strengths.
