Course contents
This module develops awareness and understanding of the factors that shape the productivity at each point in, and throughout, the entire value chain of international seafood operations. It then offers analytical tools by which senior executives can identify appropriate intervention points and strategies to improve productivity and add additional value. It sets this study in the modern, global trade environment and recognises the shifts in expectations of consumers and suppliers throughout the chain. It addresses innovation at the product, process and supply chain levels and does so in ways that recognise that true innovative change is often the result of new technologies being married to new forms of organisation and work practices.

Objective of the course
On successful completion of this module the student should be able to: 1. Articulate the key issues underpinning productivity development 2. Critically analyse a global seafood value chain 3. Critically reflect on the productivity of their own organisation and ways in which it might be improved 4. Plan and execute a productivity development project with the aim of adding additional value to one or more points of a global seafood value chain
