This course is based on independent learning and no formal teaching will be given. The student must select 150 pages literature, which will provide the basis for the lecture (exam)

The course will provide general understanding of philosophy of science in relation to the candidate’s own scientific activity. The focus will be on the introduction and discussion of central issues and problems related to philosophy of science, scientific methods and ethics. By drawing attention to the scientific and conceptual basis of our research, we can become aware of our own theoretical framework and presuppositions. The overall aim of the course is thus that the students will see their own research in a wider (knowledge based, multidisciplinary, ethical and social) perspective.

Independent learning, no seminars or lectures

A 30-45 min oral presentation followed by questions at a seminar at BFE during spring 2011

The date for the exam can be changed. The final date will be announced at your faculty early in May and early in November.
