About the course

The course can be taken as a singular course.

This course will provide a deeper understanding of business-to-business relationships in marketing, the largest part of the marketing economy. It will identify, review, evaluate and critique a variety of topics in the field. Topics such as organizing and managing long-term business relationships, buying processes in organizations, design and development of distribution channels, coordination and cooperation in B2B-relations, and international B2B-relations will be examined. How to apply theories and models on practical problems that are relevant for firms will be emphasized.

Admission requirements

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business. Students applying for admission must have a grade point average of minimum C.

Objectives of the course

Students who have successfully completed the course should have achieved the following learning outcomes:


Knowledge and comprehension:

  • Broad and general knowledge of school of thoughts and research traditions in the field and specialized knowledge in limited areas.
  • Thorough knowledge about research questions in the field and the academic debate about these.
  • Acquire and apply knowledge to new areas in the field.

Skills:

The course should prepare the student to:

  • Independently solve problems based on professional knowledge.
  • Analyse and scrutinise theoretical contributions in the field.
  • Apply the acquired knowledge in a critical and thoughtful manner in practise.
  • Structure and formulate multifaceted professional arguments.

Competence:

  • Independently develop expertise and specialization in the field.
  • Able to communicate about professional problems, analyses and conclusions in the field with both academics and practitioners.

Able to discuss professional problems in the field.
